Flying Solo

Fletcher returned to work today and I was home alone with a baby. Weird.

So we went grocery shopping and Greydon only whimpered a few times. Otherwise, he loved the car ride and the shopping cart.

Frederick

We took Greydon for a little outing on Saturday to Old Frederick. It was well over 90 degrees. He was a sweaty mess and we thought we over heated him. But he slept the whole time and was a trooper.

Okay, so we're learning. It's going to be a long summer!

A cool and happy baby before stepping outside.

So hot the back of his head turned bright red!

How do babies live in Florida? We're sweltering!

Wiped out.

Our little baby's all grows up.

The cord's been cut. What a cute belly button! You're on your own, kid.

Maybe we should call him Benjamin Belly Button.

Ick, the dried up cord.

"What do I do now?!"

First trip to the park

We ventured out of the house for the first time today and went to a local park. It was too cold, we didn't have enough clothes for Grey, but did manage to get a bottle in. So we lasted all of about 20 minutes and went home.

Lesson learned.

Snuggled up in his Boppy.

The Glicks keep us going

We had a wonderful surprise from some of our favorite people, Uncle Todd, Aunt Kristin, Miss Emma Rose, and Sloopy. Oh the wonder of getting dessert in the mail! Fairytalebrownies.com are (or should I say were) a delight!

Coming Home

Rolling with Dad in the Element.

We're home!

Greydon's first photo shoot.

We were also lucky enough to have a visit from the O'Hallarns who were passing through Maryland.

Happy Birthday, Greydon!

So after a long labor, delivery time, and a one hour nap in between pushing for almost three hours, I managed to avoid an emergency c-section and our Greydon Robert was born at 3:40am.

Hi Dad!

Can we get overtime for 18 hours labor?

We've done it. We've joined the blogging community. And we hold our new son accountable for this!

My water broke at 6am on Friday, April 10. Not sure what to do, we consulted every pregnancy book we owned to make sure it was really time. The contractions did not start immediately, so we took advantage of "free" morning and took showers, packed the car, ran a few errands and then went to the hospital. (Very typical of us to get as much done in a day as possible!)

I was induced around 11am, but held off on getting an epidural until 6pm. We spent the day watching tv, reading magazines, watching my contractions come and go every three minutes on the monitor, and eating popsicles - yum, orange is my fav.
